Do I choose Quality or Quantity?

Post by Dee » Wed Feb 28, 2001 3:51 pm

My husband and I are having a dilemma:

We have found 2 beautiful mobile homes we both love. One is of utmost quality (designer faucets/metal miniblinds/security system/tape-textured, etc), but the home is a bit smaller than we wanted and is priced higher than we wanted to go.

The second home is huge, spacious and gorgeous, but less fanciness such as no designer faucets, smaller fridge, no tape-texture, and just less frills. It is the perfect size, not something we would ever outgrow, it being just the 2 of us.

So, what is a person to do?? Spend more for more quality, or buy a home on the lower end and add some of these frills to it ourselves? I understand tape and texture can be done yourself if you like to be creative.

The 2 homes are approx. $10,000 in price difference. I have no problem in "adding" to a home, changing out a few things here and there, adding paint to get the look I want, but really if a person spends so much for a home, it almost seems unfair to have to turn around and do so much yourself. Any suggestions??

Hello Dee,

Stick with the better quality home. Five years from now you'll be glad you did.
