Hey.
So I'm interested in mobile homes. I've always wanted to live in one...I don't know why, but it has always appealed to me. Lately I've been searching around on Google Maps for mobile home communities where I live (Southern Ontario, Canada) but one thing sticks out to me: they're often in the middle of nowhere. It appears they're usually on a plot of land in a rural county/region, almost as if it's an old farm field that got zoned for this. This is basically the only thing that complicates my wish to rent/buy a mobile home. I've always lived in big cities around the world (Toronto, Belfast, Berlin) so I don't have a current license. Of course, I can and would easily get one but the location these communities are in is unique to me.
I'm just wondering and hoping someone who owns either a home or entire community could shed some light on this. Why is it they're usually placed in a rural area like this? Of course, this is definitely an appeal. To get to live somewhere more quiet is desirable and would be a great change, but yeah...I'm just wondering what the "lore" is as to why they're often far off in the middle of nowhere.
Maybe this is a weird question, but I'm curious!
Why are mobile home neighbourhoods so often in remote, rural locations?

It’s not a weird question at all! Mobile homes are typically placed in rural areas because the cost of land is much lower than in urban settings.
