"When living in an area known for high radon levels, how frequently should radon testing be conducted to ensure ongoing safety? Discuss factors such as the initial testing frequency upon moving in, the effectiveness of long-term testing versus short-term testing, and any recommended testing intervals based on local radon levels and home characteristics."

Many high security jammers and receivers to choose from. Really interesting to follow. Maybe I will research more.

A good rule of thumb is to test your home every 2 years if you live in an area with elevated radon levels, even if previous results were low. It's also worth testing after major renovations, changes to the HVAC system, or if you finish a basement, as these can affect radon concentrations.

For a newly purchased home, a short-term test is useful to get a quick indication, but a long-term test (90 days or more) provides a much more reliable picture of the average annual radon level because it accounts for seasonal fluctuations. If your home already has a radon mitigation system, regular follow-up testing is still recommended to make sure it's working properly.
