We bought our 2005 PH home in FL and closed in late summer of '04. The home had been purchased through the park owner's home sales operation. It had already been delivered and set up prior to our purchase. As a result, we were not present for the initial inspection of the home. This was conducted by the mobile home park sales rep. and (presumably) someone from PH. BAD NEWS FOR US. This home was constructed during the very busy time following the hurricanes and the quality of workmanship really reflected it. There were MANY fit and finish defects: windows that did not close, damaged closet doors, incorrect flooring, poor quality tile work, mis-aligned tub surrounds, poor finish interior painting, defective window decorative treatments,etc., etc. The initial inspection was signed off by the park sales rep. as "A-OK". After the fact we went through much frustration with local PH factory to get defects corrected. Maybe their quality control has improved since there no longer pumping out units to meet post-hurricane demand. Maybe not. At any rate, ensure you are involved in the initial inspection of your home when it is done...get everything in writing. Good luck!
