ok bought my 1st MH, what can I expect in 1st few months

howdy, my wife and I just bought our first home, manufactured it is, very nice, 2007 hampshire model from skyline, 4BD/2BTH, 1560 sq ft. We've lived here for one month now. I've never owned a home, let alone a manufactured home. The park we are in seems very nice so far. there is a lot of new ones and old ones,

can anyone give me suggestions I need to be aware of for the next 3 months or more? there is so much I am learning about my new home I don't know or understand. shoot I never knew what a soffit was or fascia was until last week.

there are many things my wife and I want to do to make our new house more into our own home, like adding awnings, a deck maybe, or screened in porch, not sure about that one, perhaps a carport. just not sure.

thank you very much for listening to my ramblings. I hope I've posted my question in the proper spot,

I dont think you should expect any surprises from your new home. In any new home there are always a few cosmetic and possible mechanical items that need tuning but Skyline has always made a good sturdy product, and been a leader in homeowner satisfaction. The vast majority of today's manufactured home builders are doing a great job honoring their warranty.

As your home is still under warranty if there are minor service needs, just contact the retailer that sold you the home so they can schedule a factory service visit. Relax and enjoy your good fortune. Sounds like you found a great home.

As far as adding additions - that should not be a problem. There are many posts on this site about additions to manufactured homes. You can search at the top of this page by putting the word addition in the search field or by CLICKING HERE

You can find over a hundred book titles in The Manufactured Housing Book Store if there is a specific aspect of MH your interested in learning about. Your always welcome to return here and we will be happy to share what we know about your questions.
