Ins

We are planning to buy a MH resale in a few weeks. Some articles have indicated homes newer than 1995 will have cheaper Ins. Is this true? What was changed in 95 and again in 99. Will I be able to get decent Ins for home built in early 90's. We are looking in Orlando and Lakeland, FL area, where they say there are no hurricanes only tropical storms with winds rarely if at all over 100mph.

Insurance has been a problem for all homes n Florida since we had two years of back to back to back hurricanes... The newer homes are built to a beefed up building code and installed with a lot more tie-downs and an increased number of foundation footers, adding more stability and less likelihood of wind damage.

Recent legislation passed in Florida has made it a lot easier and less expensive to secure insurance for ALL home owners. We operate a MH rental park and have just gotten letters telling us that our premiums will be going down (for the first time ever) when we renew next year.

Get quotes from a few local insurance agents prior to purchasing so that you will feel comfortable with your choice of homes. Here are a few that have been good for us our customers and park residents
