Any Canadians looking at buying MF home in Florida?
Any Canadians looking at buying MF home in Florida?
My husband & myself are not retired yet but will be in a few years and I have started our search for an inexpensive way to live in Florida and have seen alot about manufactured homes. What advice would you give to other Canadians looking to purchase in Florida. We ideally would like to go quite abit south (not the orlando area....although I have found them to less expensive) Of course we are looking at a reasonable $$ for lot rental. Any advice would be appreciated.

I am not Canadian but moved to Florida 28 years ago from NH, close to the Canadian border. The further south you go the higher priced you will find home purchases and lot ease prices. While Orlando has become a very big city.. with all the unhappy side effects, thee are some very affordable and wonderful locations in North Central Florida. We are near Ocala, about 90 miles north of Orlando. This area has just recently become a very hot retirement destination. There are not only great land lease communities, but manufactured homes on private property is still reasonably priced, when compared to the cost of purchase in South Florida. You can still buy a late model double-wide and a quarter acre lot with all utilities, ready for move-in for under $100,000.
Check out the Florida Listings in the MH Multiple Listings. You can browse thousands of photos and will find listings for homes across the Sunshine State. This can help you get a very good idea of price and the wide assortment of great Florida locations.
