About ready to buy.

Getting down to the nitty gritty on buying a home. Husband has found what he likes, however I am still having a few reservations. I can't find anything out about the construction of the chosen one. I want to know I am getting a quality built home and not an average build one. What we are looking at is:

2027sq.ft Keeneland, Champion, built in LaGrange, I am assuming the same plant as Dutch. Up grade the roof to 5/12, drywall through out, 8' ceiling, wood trim and cabinets, gas furnace, upgraded windows.

Do you know anything about this model/brand of home???

I did a very quick search on Yahoo, and the results are not very good. They have filed for bankruptsy and have buyers suing them over promises not kept.
My advice, keep looking.....

Champion IS NOT in bankruptcy.....Champion is the 2nd largest builder of homes in the US.. Service response might well be a problem..but I really do not have experience with this plant....

I have finainced a few Champion homes in Ohio. The homes themselves were fine, the issue was getting the small details completed. My clients lost the initial rate locks they had because Champion did not get the final siding and s few other thngs done with the houses to pass the final inspections. Now, it was not all Champions fault. The dealer ordered the wrong color siding for both homes and this did delay the process. However, the service rep for Champion took way to long get the final work done.
