Question about a brand I never heard of

Post by Greg » Tue Apr 27, 2004 6:46 pm

I am considering purchasing a 16 foot by 70 foot single wide MH. The brand is "General". I have never heard of a general before. The home has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, and is brand new. It is really nice but like I said I have never heard of this brand, if anyone knows of them please let me know more about them.

Good low end home built in Waycross, GA...

Much like the Ga built Fleetwoods and other beginning homes in the SE..

Thank you Murray. Like I said its a nice looking MH, now all I have to do is run telephone jacks and cable jacks. You wouldnt happen to know if this is a difficult task would you?

Telephone and cable are easy to do in manufactured homes..You can get everything you need at Radio Shack..

I have a single-wide now and have just gone through the belly wrap and floors when installing cable and telephone hookups. Is their a resource you can recommend on how to get hookups done with nicely finished wall plates instead of just wire coming out of the floor? We are looking at trading up to a double-wide lot model which, of course, will not have jacks preinstalled except for one phone jack in the kitchen and a cable jack inside the built-in entertainment center in the family room wall. I would just hate to have a poorly done retrofit of these items in a brand new home. By the way, if it matters, the new home would be placed on a block foundation. Thanks.
