bathroom oders

We are looking to buy our first manufactured home,It is 1991 skyline doublewide with 2 baths, they say the shower is not used in the one where the sewer smell is coming from. The owner said they put clorox and water mixture down it and will help for awhile. I am wondering if there is a venting problem. Your thoughts. Thanks.

If a shower/bath/sink is never used, the water can evaporate from the P trap, allowing sewer gases to re-enter the home. Since you aren't living there, there is no real way for you to test this theory. It could be that the water and clorox mixture is just refilling the p trap and blocking the gases until it evaporates again.

That is probably what is happening. Thank You for the input. Reuben
