I was looking at Horton and Clayton Homes as my choices and the Clayton Dealer had mentioned that Horton was going to be filing.
Any truth to this? Thanks for your time.
Is Horton Homes Going Bankrupt?
Re: Is Horton Homes Going Bankrupt?
Doesn't seem likely.. seems more likely the clayton dealer doesn't want to lose his sale to horton...
Re: Is Horton Homes Going Bankrupt?
I have heard nothing of the sort...Dudley Horton is one of the strongest financially in the industry...
It may be true that Horton retail is closing some stores...but that would not be anything like a Horton bk..
Also there is one or two Horton excluesive dealers in GA that are having problems right now...BUT...Horton will not be bk..
If a salesperson can only sell by knocking his competition..move on...by the way..Clayton in the SE has never built as strong a home as the cheapest Horton product..

Re: Is Horton Homes Going Bankrupt?
After opening a site for Manufactured Homes, Clayton.Net began sending me virus after virus via email. I don't have an ounce of respect for their business, and your posting confirms my opinion once again.
If the other place was filing, they could still be a good candidate for your home purchase. First of all, there are several forms of filing, not all signal the end of a business, just a difficult time. Secondly, during distress a business might offer pricing that would be very attractive as well.
