Since seeking answers to our subject concerning why there are not more developers selling the land together with the manufactured home, AARP has just written a feature story demonstrating the horrors of lessees who have been living in rental parks for more than thirty years being evicted so the park owners can sell to developers of malls, condominiums, etc. Murray or Scott, could a sufficient demand by consumers for land ownership with the MH change the complexion of too many rental parks with the constant threat of rising rents or evictions hanging over the MH lessee?
Also, how many States have legislation protecting the MH owner against oppressive rent raises and sudden evictions?
Thanks Carol and Richard
Addendum to Buying Land with MH
Re: Addendum to Buying Land with MH
I for one have little info on the 50 states laws concerning leased land...Some states like CA have rent control which actually hurts the residents...
There is great info about resident owned coops or parks available on this web site...
This site is maintained and operated by an attorney who advocates resident ownership of parks in CA...There are many articles and links to info from other states...Chack it out..

Since resident owned parks are not marketed very well...You might want to check out parks in the area of CA you want to live...All manufactured home parks in CA are listed here..You can search by location..the info will include the phone number and management names...There might very well be some resident owned parks in the area you want to live..
