Help

I am purchasing a manufactured home from AZ to be shipped to CA. I am having a hard time finding a contractor to setup the home, including skiritng, carport, etc. in a mobile home park. Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

I would be very, very careful if I were you. The installer better have a gold reputation and be familiar with the type of home you are buying. You are setting yourself up to be caught in the middle of "it's the factory's fault", no, "its the installer's fault". I'm not saying that it can't be done, but go into it with your eyes wide open and be prepared for some frustating times if things aren't quite right (which they never are, but a good "supervised" installer can remedy during the course of setup). Can't you buy from a local reputable dealer and let them take the responsibility for a good installation?

The other post here is making a very good point..the dealer set up is an important part of the purchase equation....in this case you will be acting as the dealer and that means if there is any problems..you will be on your own..

The first place I would talk to is the park manager...he/she should have some knowledge of movers in the area.....Also..call a local dealer and ask for a referral..

This could be a tough problem...As a dealer we would be subcontracting with many different contractors....moving crews..set up crews..trim crews...carpet crews..skirting installers...screenroom installers...electrical contractors...and a/c installers...all different companies..Not easy for everything to go right..
