Oakwood and ALL of its companies are in Chapter 11 bankruptcy right now..It has been announced that Clayton Homes will make an offer to buy all the assets of the company to the courts...BUT..these offers usually do not involve taking any responsibility for liabilities...

You may be giving up some of your legal rights for future recourse in this type of situation..You should get competent legal advice...I am sure the plant will honor warranty out of a sense of obligation...but I doubt they will be required to and if a major dispute arises..I doubt you will have any legal standing with the new owner..

The time frame for the deal is...formal offer this coming month..if accepted by the bankruptcy court and creditors..closing should be in March or April..Of course if you buy then..you will be dealing with the new company..the most well funded company in the business..

scott, clayton homes was bought out by warren buffett group, and warren buffet group has made offer on oakwood . their service is in limbo right now , you would be well advised to what happened to grand manor owners, pioneer owners, in other words holding the bag. be careful is my best recommendation , rmurry is deAD ON
