Hello All,
And yet another question from yours truley... What is a DCA seal? I have found that in order for us to qualify for the assistance I had previously mentioned the home MUST have a "DCA SEAL"... Could someone please tell me what that is...
Thanks Again..
We will eventually be buying a house... What, we have been looking for 4 months now... We are inching closer... Can hardly wait... Thanks for the input...
Thanks all..

DCA Seal?
Re: DCA Seal?
DCA is the Department of Community Affairs..State of Florida..
This is the department of the government that certifies and inspect modular homes in Florida..They have a great web site..that includes complete specs and plans for every modular approved in the state..
http://www.floridabuilding.org/mb/mb_plan_srch.asp
You are in luck..Florida allows on frame modulars that for the better manufacturers require little of no change from what they normally build..Homes of Merit, Palm Harbor, Jacobson and others offer DCA versions of their homes with little or no increase in cost...Very basic HUD homes would cost much more and might not be available at all...Tell your dealer your plans and why...
Remember paying $10K more for the home to get $3K in benefits might not be wise..There are down payment assistant program available for HUD homes as well..
The confusion continues....it is a normal part of the purchase process..things will soon crystallize and all will be well...Good Luck
