Clayton?
Re: Clayton?
Clayton Homes was recently bought by the 2nd richest man in the country...At least they will be here and not go out of business..
Generally they build middle range to low end homes...except for Norris ( a Clayton brand) and a few others that might be considered top of the line..
They make most of there money in finance..and the rates and programs are very high...Be sure to shop the finance as much as the home...They will talk to you a lot about the Bubba Loan...This is where they take 1/2 payment out of your checking account every 2 weeks...basically this way you pay an extra payment every year...saving some money over the loans life..of course you can do this with any loan on a home...Shop the rate..That is the most important thing..
Be careful of financing more than 1 years insurance with your home...another Clayton foavorite..selling longer term insurance (3 or 5 years) and financing it for the whole term of the loan...
