FHA req.for pads

We are in the process of placing our new home and need to know the FHA guidelines for the pad.The pad that is there in 4in thick. No one seems to know what the guidlines for FHA are.The property we purchased has every thing there,elec.well sewer and pad. We just need to know about the pad.

FHA guidelines generally require a FHA approved engineer to design and certify the foundation...Your dealer should be able to help...If not talk to the originator at the lender for advice..

Footings under the piers must be below the frostline...have rebars...I am not sure a pad would meet these requirements...

Also...FHA foundations are not all alike in different parts of the country...Soil content, freeze lines even earth quake information is necessary to complete the design...

We just completed a FHA set in Cordelle Ga. The pad had to be 30"x30"x12". The exterior pad had to be 12"x 6". However, your requirements, like Murray said, could be different depending on your area. Remember there are two FHA inspection required. One is for the foundation/perimiter inspection and the other is for final FHA compliance inspection.
