We were in the process of purchasing a doublewide from an independent broker that buys and sells repos. We got financed for the $33,000 and we gave her the 10% down ($3,300) in the form of a cashier check. This was on July 14. We then purchased our full year of insurance on this house and was told it was just a matter of time before they would move it out here. Well, we have talked to her and she told us she found an even better house for us for the same price. We were like "ok, but we need it NOW and don't want to wait". She called and said it would be Aug. 1 before they would release the house and now she is saying the end of the month. She said we could either wait or get our money back. We said we wanted our money back so that we could go somewhere else or go ahead and build our own home. We haven't heard back from her and she is no longer taking our calls! What are our rights and what should we do?!?!!

HELP!!! Emergency!!!
Re: HELP!!! Emergency!!!
I hope they are a dealer....There is a state licensing authority that contols them..
You called them a broker...you should check if brokers are independently lisenced..
Obviously she or the lender sold the first home to someone else...Usually brokers are selling someone elses homes...Who was the lender on the first sale...
I assume you have seen the homes...has the other moved from its original site..???..
It might be time to contact an attorney...and/or go buy the place of business and knock on the door...If you do not have an address...put the phone number in google and it usually gives the name and address assigned to the number..
Good Luck...do not waste any time..
