Fireplaces

Can anyone clue me in on the name of a couple of popular manufacturers that are used to supply the fireplaces in most manufactured homes? I did not put one in originally and now want to explore the possibility. Thanks.

What you need is a ZERO clearance fireplace...Both Lowes and Home Depot sell these....

Viking is a common brand in new manufactured homes...There are others...

Fireplaces vs woodstove

Post by sabrina » Sun May 11, 2003 9:49 am

hi mr. murray,
what does zero clearance mean?

i recently looked at a 2000 palm harbor. the inspector said the wood stove was not up to code so i can't buy it as fha requires the home to be up to code without changes prior to sale.

do you have any thoughts on the comparison of a fireplace to a wood stove? what i already know is that a fireplace is generally for the wonderful feeling of warmth and beauty of a fire and a wood stove is for the warmth. are there fireplaces for manufactured homes that are as good at heating as a wood stove? gotta clean the things either way!
