Air Conditioning

We recently purchased a Karsten Sf-20 with 2084 sq ft. How do we determine what size central air conditioning unit we need? I would like to go with a Puron system, which comes with a 14 SEER rating. Is there a limit on the size A/C unit due to what the duct work can handle? Do I also need to replace the blower unit in the furnace? It gets really hot in southern New Mexico so I would rather have too much than not enough. Thanks.

There is a heat loss certificate posted in your home..It has all the details of the heat loss info and it tells you the maximum size a/c required for good efficiency...
Also..I would expect anyone selling this type of unit should be able to answer this...Actually some of the sizing info is site dependent...
Over sized a/c is the biggest mistake made...It would defeat the purpose of paying extra for the 14 SEER if you oversize the unit..
Good Luck
