Did anyone see www.fuquabuyerbeware.com ? This is the kind of information we need as first time buyers. Randy's book says Fuqua is good, but after this, I'm not buying . A truly good company would take back the junk and refund the money or replace the home with one that is not water damaged.
Why is it on this forum we don't hear more real stories and experiences? Every time someone talks about their problems, they always seem to say "I won't mention which manufacturer it is" - why not? How can consumers have a voice to change things if we don't know?
I bet if everyone who wants a maufactured home knew this info and refused to pay the full amount until after seeing the house, then a lot of manufacturers wouldn't refuse to fix their mistakes so often.
Does nayone own a home from the Fuqua - MO plant that is great, with good sevice?
Buyer Beware
Re: Buyer Beware
Hello Donna,
What about all the thousands of Fuqua buyers that are satified with their homes? Donna, you know that with any product there is always going to be a few that don't work out. I would like to hear Fuquas side of the story. So, someone has a complaint and posts it on the Internet so what. Every manufacturer will have a small percentage of complaints.

Re: Buyer Beware
The events with Fuqua also concern me but it also points out the vital importance of really looking at the agents of the home you are considering purchasing.
I think that the Beattie's had had it from the get go.

Re: Buyer Beware
Two morals to this story...
1)..Cheapest price is not always the best deal...One should investigate the dealer and ask for recent referrals...This dealer was obviously in trouble and probably would have shown up with recent customers...or the lack of customers..
When shopping...price is only part of the deal...dealer reputation and solvency is just as important...I have seen this sort of thing happen many times..where price is the only controling factor...Get the chaepest price...sometimes get the cheapest workmanship...
2)...With all the talk of modulars being a better choice...there is NO contoling government agency to help in the case of a problem...If this was a HUD home...the HUD agency would have made Fuqua correct any problems that were violations...and the HUD agancy would have taken up the set up battle as well...Many states even have bonding requirments that protect the consumer in the event the dealer folds up..

Re: Buyer Beware
You are right. You should name the manufacturer. See my story under poor FLEETWOOD .
