Does anybody have problems with buckling with outside vinyl????? We have 2000 Fleetwood that severly buckles.
We have had several repairmen look at it and "oh, that 's from the heat " "nothing can really be done about that"
What a Crock......we see other homes in our are that do not have this problem. And it is also in the winter that it buckles; maybe not as noticeable but something is wrong.
Any feedback is appreciated. I don't believe new mobile home should have this problem.

Re: vinyl buckle
Hello P Boudreaux,
My father-in-law has the same problem on his home and it's common in the manufactured housing industry. Most vinyl used in the mfg. industry is of poor grade typically and buckling is a result. It could also be a poor installation job and not enough allowances were made to allow the vinyl to expand or contract. I would contact a professional vinyl company in your area and have them come out and look at your problem. They will be able to tell you if it was a poor installation or if it's a cheap product or both. You need to get an expert to look at the problem and offer a solution. If it's a cheap product there is probably nothing you can do and you're going to have to live with the problem or replace it with a better product at your expense. If the vinyl was not installed properly I would contact the sales center to have them correct the problem. If you don’t feel comfortable having the sales center fix the problem have a professional you trust do the work and send the bill to your sales center. But you’ll need to have your sales center approve this before you choose this method. I personally would have the sales center fix the problem fist and if this fails, I would contact a professional and pay out of pocket to have the work done, if it’s not too expensive. Let us know how this turns out, God bless.

I have a call in with service center.
I will make call with vinyl specialist prior to service coming out.

The plant that made out home Lexington MS has closed. But we have had Several Major Repairs on home (i.e. whole new roof, floor joist poppeeed up, holes in walls, moulding popping out al over, etc.
Isn't there a program that helps consumers who have this many problems with home????
What about Lemon Law? Do you know if it applies to mobile homes???????

Re: vinyl buckle
Well, we were going to upgrade to Vinyl siding when we bought our Manf. home next week. Now I am not so sure.
We are buying a Fuqua home, does anyone know if it is just certain manuf. home makers that use a cheap vinyl or is the vinyl used standard in the manuf. home industry?
We are not crazy about the look of the vertical siding. We wanted to upgrade to vinyl but perhaps we will have to either stick with the vertical or spend more for the Hardi - Lap. Is anyone very familiar with Hardi- Lap siding? Any problems? Any suggestions would be helpfull.
Re: vinyl buckle
Hello P,
You can contact the manufactured housing association in your state or the BBB in your state. I would first give the dealer you bought your home a chance to fix the problems. You can also contact the factory and this may help.

Re: vinyl buckle
Randy, I understand that you are saying that the vinyl might be cheap siding but as a consumer ......I believe Fleetwood should provide quality customer service in all areas. I will take your advice.
Do you know any contacts for Legal Protection/Recourse?
Is there a Lemon Law in Louisiana?
Your help is appreciated.
PS - I don't believe Fleetwood should continue to use these same materials. They need to fix these problems and/or use better materials.
