The list of homes you compared in your book does not include Fairmont and Pine Grove. I live in central NY state. What can you tell me about the quality of these two? Also, most dealers tell me they can upgrade to OSB (floor) in their mods only. Is OSB OK? Is there any way to avoid paying sales tax?

I have looked at Fairmont and Pine Grove and found them to be average. You can up-grade to get into the quality category if you wish. OSB is ok for a sub-floor just be sure it's 3/4" thick with 2x8 floor joists under it. You may want to look at Titan by Champion or Burlington Homes of Maine.
