Hi,
The subject title says it all. I feel like Sgt. Schultz in an old "Hogan's Heroes" episode.
The wife and I are looking to get out of the apartment and into something more our own. Because we're looking for the best value for our money I've started thinking about mobile homes, somewhat to her dismay. (The stereotype of trailer park white trash is pretty strong in her family).
But she's agreed to at least check it out and we'll be visiting our local MH dealer soon. What are the scams we might run into and how can we find more information on this topic? If we were looking at a site home we'd be more informed (e.g. we know to stay away from "starter" homes and "handyman specials"). On the topic of mobiles homes we're really clueless right now.
Thanks for your time.
Pete

Hello Peter,
You are heading down the right road by asking questions. There are some good manufactured homes out there that will appreciate over time. This web site is a good resource for people just starting to look. There is a book for sale on this site called, How To Buy A Manufactured Home And Save Thousands Of Dollars." It will reveal the scams out there and help you make wise decisions. Go to the home page and log onto the book store. Good luck and Happy Easter.
