Again I want to thank all for such a wonderful site. I have been doing some research, I am considering the purchase of a mh, so far they make sense, however during my research i've notice 3 brands that stand out here in georgia. 1 is palmharbor the 2 is patriot(pinnacle) 3rd homes of merit although not necessary in that order of presidence thus is the question which one in my state would be considered the best in specifications, quality built, and customer service after the sale... any takers please.../

Hello J. Brewster,

I would look at Patriot first then Commodore Homes. My third choice would be either Palm Harbor or Homes of Merit. All are good companies with quality products. The sales center is key and I would concentrate on family owned or exclusive dealerships that have been around for 10 years or more. Good luck!

Homes of Merit built in Lake City, Fl. is one of the best...Remember they build three models..each with different specs...The Bay Manor is the best and come with a 5 year warranty..

Palm Harbor is built in LaGrange, GA and Ala...The LaGrange palnt builds the most basic Palm Harbor built anywhere...The basic specs are no better than the Forest Manor (most basic HOM)...I would be looking at Bellcrest or Homestead before the LaGrange built Palm..

I have not seen the others recently....
There are others you might consider...Jacobson (from FL), Mascot (from sc)....these are the very best generally available in GA..

Then for the best basic specs on an affordable home there is GA's own Horton..

The best dealer is very important...There are long time local family owned dealerships in all cities...Good Luck
