I have a Golden West home and when I got it I didn't have enough money to put it on a permanent foundation. Is it possible to put it on a permanent foundation later? If so, how the heck do they do it??

Yes it is very possible to do that. It is not as easy as it would have been when the home was first set, but very doable. Talk to a foundation contractor (masonary) they will guide you in the process. Also, get more than one estimate for the work.
