Dutch Homes

Post by Lori » Wed Jun 27, 2001 8:16 pm

We have an acre and a half in Missouri to work with. We were thinking of buying a manufactured home. We are told that Dutch is the best around here. I have heard that Fleetwood is not a good one. I have also heard that Mfh are scary to be in when there is a storm with high winds. I am told that they sway. Then you hear people talk about all these service calls. If you have a new home, why would you have service calls. It seems like there is so much to know. Can anyone shed some light on these things for me?

Thanks
Lori

Hello Lori,

Dutch homes are very nice and you'll do fine going with them. There are three things that you need to remember when purchasing a manufactured home. First choose quality construction. Second choose a reputable retailer that is known for servicing their customers. Third, place your home on a concrete foundation with an adequate anchoring system. Hope this helps.

Lori, I have never lived in an manufactured home ...new or otherwise but I can tell you that even with a regular stick built home there are always things that you have to call the builder back to fix or repair etc......and believe me some builders are as bad as some of the manufactured homes stories I am reading.
