3 different questions-Please Help!

I live in southwest Louisiana near the Texas border. We are looking to buy a manufactured home for the first time. Any suggestions on dealers? We have looked at Palm Harbor and Clayton. Palm Harbor home was beautiful, but what about quality?
Also, can we take the wheels and/or tires off the trailer and put it on a cement foundation?
Third, are there two story homes available, and are they of good quality?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fourth question, would Randy's book help me with our first purchase decision? Thanks a lot, Chrystal

Hello Chrystal,

Palm Harbor homes are a quality home and one I can recommend. When you set-up a manufactured home the wheels and tires come off and the home can be place on a concrete foundation or a basement. Two story homes are usually modular homes, which are different then manufactured homes. Modular homes are built very well and usually cost more. The average cost per square foot for a manufactured home in the United States is $38 to $60 a square foot. The better built homes being in the $50 to $60 range. Modular homes average cost per square foot is $60 to $100 a square foot.
