Hello Sherry,

Does your home have plywood sheathing? Hopfully it does!!!! The floor system could be 2x8's and the 3/8 sheet rock is a poor substitute for 1/2 or 5/8. Sounds like a standard home on a scale 1 - 10, 10 being the best built your home is probably a 5 or 6.

Hi Randy,

Thank you for replying,

could you please describe what plywood sheathing is? When the house was put up they did attach plywood to both ends of the home before they put the vinyl siding on.

and, if by chance if it does not have this, what is going to happen?

Thanks for your time,
Sherry

Hello Sherry,

It sounds like your home has plywood sheathing. It is put on the outside of the exterior walls of your home. It helps hold the home together during deliver and adds structural integrity to the overall design. I wish you well, have a great weekend

Some homes have the OSB (chipped board or plywood) Board on the ends and USB (black board) on the sides, you have to look under the siding.
