i'm wondering if the carport can be supported another way besides the existing posts, which are set into the cement driveway.

obviously this would give me some more width to get in and out.

can the carport be braced from above or below instead? thanks.

The short answer is NO... Most carports are pan roofs that hang on aluminum posts and beams. How is yours constructed ????
