First Time Buyer - Older MH What to Look For?

Post by kimlin » Tue May 21, 2013 1:05 pm

We are seriously considering buying a 1973 Gentry mobile home. It is 1440 sq ft and appears to be well manintained and has been upgraded & updated by the homeowner who was a builder by trade. Were Gentry homes well built for their time? What should we ask for in an inspection?

The home is 40 years old. The original builders efforts have long been overshadowed by the owners maintenance and care. Hire a licensed home inspector and have him do a full inspection. They will cover every system and feature of the home from the roof to the foundation including the electric, plumbing, and heating/cooling. In most parts of the country the cost is a few hundred dollars and well worth the cost.
