Replace Older Mfg Home with New?

Post by BarbP » Tue Mar 19, 2013 4:30 pm

We have an older doublewide manufactured home, and we are wondering if we could have the older home removed, purchase a new doublewide of about the same dimensions, and have the new one installed on the foundation the old one used?

The foundation is a permanent foundation.

Would the same hookups for the septic and water, etc., work for the new home with just changes to length or whatnot?

Lastly, the older home is in very good condition, do dealers take older homes as "trade in" on new purchases?

Thanks for any and all thoughts!

Often dealers trade but value will be adjusted for the very high costs of moving.

It may or may not be possible to use current foundation. Most likely a new one will be called for. A professional set crew will know the current requirements.
