1977 Skyline Mobile Home Plans & Duct/Heating Sytem

Post by Lori » Sun Nov 25, 2012 8:19 pm

Does anyone know where I can get the plans and Duct System plans for a 1977 Skyline Mobile Home (42 x 24) serial number 13838AB. Also, possible someone may know for this unit, water leak coming through living room ceiling vent. Looked in the vent and water was pooled. We have put 2 times Slurry for roof and did stop leaking but now leaking again. Thank you for your help.

Is is possible that the moisture you see is from condensation? Or are you seeing it only after rain? What is the condition of the roof?

Most roof problems with homes as old as yours require a roof-over. I live in a early 80's Fleetwood. We recently installed a galvalume roof over that looks like this

These roof will last between 25-50 years eliminating several re-shingle expenses. We put the metal over a blanket of double-bubble insulation. Between the reflective properties of the roof and the insulation our air conditioning (electric) bill was cut by about a third. This alone will pay us back for the cost of the roof in about 7 years.

The ductwork is likely very simple in this house. 2 straight ducts connected by a flex duct. There may be more flex ducts under the home if you have central air conditioning.
