What can cause moisture in hallway and bedroom walls and cause walls to become soft? The air conditioner is across from hall and bedrooms. Not all walks ar wet just one wall in each bedroom and all the closet space. Also the beam that connects the home together are falling down.

It is difficult from your description to figure out whats happening???

Are all the effected rooms on the same side of the home?

Are all the effected walls exterior walls ?

Are the effected walls along the marriage line between 2 sections ?

Is the beam you are talking about inside the home (along the ceiling) or under it ?

Give me a bit more details and Ill try to take a stab at it.

Every effected wall seems to have an electrical outlet or lighht switch on one side of the trailer

The effected walls are all interior

All are along that marriage line except one wall is on the back side of the fire place


Also a metal roof was put roughly seven years ago over the existing roof but all is dry under metal roof. They took off vents and caps and eve cap. All was dry under that

If some of the problem is appearing around your fireplace the roof stack may not be sealed correctly. When they put the new roof they should have taken steps to insure the chimney pipe is flashed and sealed through the new roof. All thing being equal this would be the first thing I would check

If all of the damage is on the center-line there is a possibility the roof cap or even a single screw holding the metal is not sealed correctly. I can only assume that it was checked while it was not raining, which might make the roof under the cap seem dry. Find a different roofing contractor to recheck. One tiny bad spot in the roof could be the source. One screw in the metal roof with hundreds of screws, that is not sitting and sealed right can cause a lot of water in a home.

Another possibility is a leaking water pipe along that center line. If you buy water and have a water meter, be sure that all sinks, showers, washing machines etc are off, Then go look at the meter. If it is running you know you have a plumbing leak.

If you have your own well, after shutting the sinks etc in the house go sit by your water system for a while. If the pump comes on (to add water to the tank) you know that there is water running where it should not be.
