replacing a ceiling light

I have a 1996 Aspen Peak Manufactured home. I needed to replace a light fixture in my bathroom. The guy at home depot told me that a regular light fixture has a min 90 degree celcius supply conductors and that my light fixture is only 70 degree (took the old one off and took with me) and that they wouldn't work. I went back a week later and another employee told me that it would be ok; so I purchased that light and now I have to replace light bulbs all the time. I have two 40watts bulbs and one will burn out and then I'll replace that one and then the other will burn out. Is it possible that I shouldn't have replaced with a 90 degree. I've been told that I may need to rewire my entire house.
