Verifiaction of HUD Label

My title indicates my home was manufactured in 1974, my title has HUD lable numbers, i'm trying to verify these labels. There are no plates on the home. The manufacture information is missing, the only thing available is the sign on the side of the home, "Brettwood" by Viking Homes, a division of LUDLOW Corporation.

Any way to trace this information? I don't want to pay HUD $100.00 and find out the numbers are not in the data base.

Thanks
Richard

If the unit was built in 1974 it will not have HUD labels. The HUD program began June 15 1976. HUD labels will have three letters followed by six numbers. The title could be wrong as far as the year of manufacture, can you verify the serial number? If it is a HUD unit the serial number will be stamped on the front crossmember on the left side ( looking at the front) of the hitch end.The HUD labels were applied to the left side of the rear endwall.

If it is a HUD unit it will be in the system but you will need to verify the serial number to the HUD labels,IBTS does the label search. Serial number and HUD label numbers are two different things. The HUD label does not ID the unit,it only verifies that the unit conforms to the HUD standards at the time of manufacture.

Thanks for the info. Based on your information the numbers I have on the title are not HUD numbers, no letters, just numbers. Also, there are no HUD labels on the unit.

So I will save my money.

Thanks
