I own a mobile home in Florida. I am trying to obtain the title from the DMV. They state there is a lien on it from 1996 from the previous owner at time of sale. I contacted the previous owner, she will sign a release. I need the proper form to send her for signature and cannot find it. Where can I get this form?

My son bought a trailer with my husband as cosigner. We never got a copy of the title from the bank. Now my son is trying to get the trailer in his own name and the financing company wants a copy of the title. We have contacted TD Bank numerous times for the title. Each time a different answer. It is either being processed or we need to contact a different department. Now they tell us there is no title just a UCC statement. According to NJ DMV law there has to be a title and the lien holder has to have it. What should we do now? We are at a stand still...

I have never heard of any lender offering a loan on a manufactured home with out securing the title.

In the State of New Jersey, a mobile home must be titled within 10 days of purchase or face a penalty fee. Visit the dealer that sold you the home. They should have copies of the title work. OR contact your local office of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission or the main opffice at P.O. Box 160, Trenton, NJ 08666, (609) 292-6500 or toll free in NJ (888) 486-3339. If you have a serial number they can trace the title work.
