I have a 2x6 floor joist not sitting on an outrigger. Can I support this area with cinder blocks and pressure treated wood and shim as necessary. I'm experiencing a little bounce in this area. I did notice most of my joists are supported by outriggers. I am able to eliminate any floor squeaks by tightening up the bolts at the outriggers. This one spot I'm not able to do because there is not outrigger at the location.

You can not just put piers randomly under the floor. The must support some part of the steel frame. You may find that the homes needs to be re-leveled... as most do within the first year.

You can look at the piers around the area in question. See if they are all still holding weight. You may find some with a slight gap between the top of the wood ship and the frame.

Call a local licensed installer. The cost for re-leveling is usually less then the cost of not re leveling.
