Engineering reports

Post by maloneg » Tue Dec 27, 2011 2:52 pm

I have an interested buyer for my mobile home and land and this woman has been apporved for an FHA loan but they won't grant the loan unless I come up with an engineering report for the mobile home. My question is: How do I go about getting an engineering report? Since I have never heard of any such thing much less know how to get one. Please let me know.

It sounds like what you need is a certification for your foundation. In recent years some lenders will not approve a loan unless they get certification that the home is on a "permanent foundation". The standards for a "permanent foundation" differ from state to state. Contact your state MH Associaiton for a reference to an engineer.
