Hi we bought a 1987 zimmerman single wide mobile 2yrs ago. we are finding that there are some recepticals and switches that don't work. where can I get the plans on how it was wired originally? I can't find on line any info on zimmerman manufacturers. Is the some where to either call or email to get a copy og the wiring plans? thanks sandy

The short answer is no..Be sure you check your ground fault breakers especially if the problems are in the kitchen or baths..If they seem to be operating correctly, you will have to employ the services of an experienced troubleshooting electrician..Good Luck

Zimmer stopped building homes not very long after your home was built. They built the best homes in town and were very responsible when it came to warranty claims. You have purchased a quality product.

Like all manufacturers the location of the electric lines is very predictable and you wont really need a plan to uncover most problems. You will find that the receptacle and switches were wired in series... like a string of Xmas lights.

Mr Murray is correct about the ground fault breakers. They are at the root of more than half the electric problems in manufactured homes. Check them first

If the problem is not centered in the wet areas of your home or exterior circuits.....start from the end of the home closest to the panel box using an inexpensive electric tester on each switch and recept to isolate the problem. Once you find no power check the next boxes along the same wall to see how far that circuit is disabled. Most times you will find the problem at one end of that "dead" area or the other.

Repairing electric problems is not something you want to learn by trial and error... any error could be you last act. If you don't have experience contact with a professional.
