I'm taking a trade in on a new mobile home here in NC. The title states the make of it as "home". The serial number begins with HL. Customer states it is a Norris but can't identify it with certainty. Can't find data plate. Any help would be appreciated.

Most of them stamped the Serial Number into the hitch bumper (shown below)

Some builders used to stamp the number on the main I Beem, on the front door side, near the hitch end. If it is stamped in either location it will have oxidized considerably over the years and you may need to sand down the rust to see the numbers.

Alternatively you might find the serial number included on the title or state registration for the home. Old insurance policies, bills of sale, building department permits or records might include the serial number. A land deed often will include a description including a serial number, if the home was ever sold with the land where it sits.

I have an old mobile home on a piece of land. Do not know Mfg. or serial number. Is there any way to get any type of insurance without those pieces of information?
