We just purchased a new Skyline home which is being set-up tomorrow. My concern is in reading about the OSB floors. Would this new home of ours have such type flooring? If so, I sure want to be primed to watch for such a problem.

Additionally, I was informed this afternoon these homes emit formaldehyde vapors from construction materials. Having actue Emphysema, that now causes me great concern. Please advise.........

All new homes have some formaldehyde vapors. This is not unique to manufactured housing. The formaldehyde is in the counters, cabinet doors, some floor boards etc. Just about every wood product made for new homes has some formaldehyde in it, Once your home is installed follow the manufacturers directions for proper ventilation of the new home and the remaining formaldehyde should not be problematic for most occupants.

Did you have any problems when you visited the Skyline model homes? Your new home should have the same basic features and about the same formaldehyde content.

Skyline has different options for flooring. Ask your retailer what was used in your new home and the best way to vent the home prior to moving in.
