My sister and I are interested in purchasing a mobile home. She is disabled and uses a wheelchair. Does anyone know how easy it is to modify the bathroom and doorways of a mobile home? We live in New York, eastern long island, and are looking for a contractor that is knowledgable.

If you are interested in a new home, Shamrock homes are the best choice for a high quality home that will be built to meet your sister's needs.

When we purchased our new MH we had them install 32" and 36" interior doors. We also had a wheelchair ramp put in when we had the deck installed. Neither of us are in a wheelchair but there is always that possibility considering our age and disabilities. When you go to look at MH, make sure you take a tape measure to measure the width of the front door and interior doors. Some of the less expensive homes have 28" interior doors so you can't go through them with a wheelchair.
