I would like to add concrete footers under my piers. Would I be able to jack the home up just enough to remove one pier at a time, leave it on the jack while i install the footer and let the concrete setup. Then reinstall the pier and move on to the next one.

Unless you have some experience installing and leveling homes, this type of retrofitting would best be left to experienced professionals. You can do great structural and cosmetic damage and put yourself in a position to suffer serious injury if you make a single mistake.

That said, let me ask you:

1- In what part of the country is your home located?

2- Why do you want to do this? Are you experiencing problems that you think installing footers below grade would correct ?

There is often more than one way to fix a problem. Let us know why you are considering this and perhaps we can offer you some solutions.

Thank You for responding. First my home is located in Kentucky. During the last wind storm, My home has shifted a little. I noticed this when I was putting the underpinning back under it. I have called a professional on releveling my home.

After calling the professional,My wife and I have decided to add on to our home. I would like to have the home set permanently, with out the worry of it settling to much or shifting. Also, one corner of my home is about 60" off the grade. Which is the end that shifted.

I am a Tool & Die maker, so being precise would not be a problem.

Just adding more concrete below grade will not necessarily offer the stability you seek. The blocks and concrete under most homes support the structure, while the anchor system prevents lateral as well as vertical movement. For the type precession required you really should consider an engineered system.

The mobile home setter that original set my home came out today. He said that I could add piers in between the original piers. He said to call him after I got that done, he would come back out and relevel my home. He also said that the home had shifted quit a bit, it was in no danger of falling off the piers.
