Tile over Cresdek

I am wanting to install tile in my new home, it has the 3/4 inch Cresdek subfloor with the linoleum. I was going to use 1/4 backerboard then tile over that. Anything else I need to consider when installing tile over cresdek, I figured the lino would serve as vapor barrier between backerboard and cresdek. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I did a search of the archives of these forums and found a good thread on tile installation on press board..I know you have OSB but there is a good post from a Lowe's floor specialist that addresses the installation on ANY wood floor. Sounds like a complete description of the proper process for a good long term installation. You can find the thread here and find the post;

Tile can be placed over Cresdek following the installation of a tile backer such as Hardibacker. Another alternative to installing tile directly over particleboard, plywood or OSB floor decking is to use Dal Tile's Dal Lath system. This system has been tested and approved by Dal Tile on Cresdek. You can also contact the Manufacturer of Cresdek directly, Hambro Forest Products, Inc., Crescent City, CA directly at 707-464-6131 for a copy of recommended installation instructions for all floor coverings applied over Cresdek or Cres-X floor decking. Ask for Mr. Dan Davis. All types of floor covering is applied over Cresdek and has been since the product was introduced in 1964. You will find the factory very helpful in assisting you.
