Hi.. I am wanting to know how to prep and what kind of paint to use to paint the exterior surfaces of my 1986 Cavelier 14'X76? It has the metal type (assuming aluminium) siding... any suggestions would be very helpful...

porkchop40,
IF the aluminum siding is only faded, no matter how bad that fading, chalking, oxidized or dull it may be, it CAN be restored, refurbished to like new color with a quality clear coat paint restoration using a quality automotive clear coat from PPG, DuPont, Spies-Hecker or any first rate name product. But, my personal favorite is a product called VIVILON Classic from a small company that has been making it for almost 30 years. The reason I like it is the ease of use. It makes paint restoration simple with a single stage (no mixing) ambient (air) curing non-toxic ( so you don't have to wear a spacesuit to be legal spraying it), great adhesion to aluminum, and quick drying paint restorer and protector. It also has a satin sheen option if you don't want a deep luster on the aluminum siding when you're done.
The company website is
