I have a 1990 Redman 3bedroom 2 bath home 24x52 I'm wanting to put on a new roof. I have a shingle roof now and I was wondering what it would cost to install a new one. I live in California and I was quoted $2500 does that sound right or to high.

Roofing is sold and installed by the square. One square = 100 square feet. Your home is approx 1250 square feet, thus $200.00 per square installed, including tear off of the old materials. This is a fairly common price in most markets.

Sounds like a very reasonable price...
You've got a lot of new choices today for manufactured home roof replacement. New engineered shingles are made to look like cedar or tile. Even metal roofs, the old standby for barns, have made a comeback with new colors, styles, and 50 year maintenance-free life expectancy.

I just recently purchased a 28x56 Champion from Brookhaven homes in Brookhaven,Mississippi. The mobile home was manufactured on 11-3-07. I moved in my home in December 15,2007. I have recently had problems with my shingles blowing off. The first time was on January 29th, then on February 6th, then again on February 11th. I need to know what to do. I suggested that they put a metal roof on but they said no. I have places on my roof where they put roof tar on nail holes. I also have split shingles. There is no sense of my shingles blowing off a new mobile home that is a month old. I need to know what I need to do. I would like a new roof put on my mobile home but don't know what to do and who i need to talk too. The manufactor or the seller. Please help..........

In most cases the builder of the home is the one issuing the warranty. You would probably do best to talk to the sales operation where you purchased the home and see if they will take responsibility for informing the factory service department of your problem.
If they tell you to contact the factory, or dont respond to your problem is a reasonable amount of time, get the name and phone number of the service manager at the plant where your home was built. when you call there it is important to have the Year Make and Serial Number of your home handy as well as the name and phone number of the place you purchased it.
Most builders have shifted their attention from the dealer to the end user. Manufacturers have increased quality control and warranty programs to satisfy homeowners. Yet once in a while there is a problem for the homeowner that can fall between the cracks and go unsatisfied.
