Can you replace pex water lines to any other kind of water line? I want to get away from having to use a crimper. Please help if you can, I have a 1990 Redman doublewide 24x52 3bed 2 bath.....thank you

It would be far cheaper to buy the $100 tool.

We have changed many of our rentals over to PVC and PEX have never had another plumbing problem with those homes... PEX is a good choice. The crimping tool is easy to master ... if you want to use glued fittings go with PVC and CPVC

Read the article in our MH REPAIR AND RENOVATION ARCHIVE Understanding and Installing Manufactured Housing Waterlines I think this will give you a very good overview of how our homes are plumbed and some of the great advantages of PEX.

We are NOT having the problems with PEX that the last generation of homes had with POLY. Even thought they are both joined using crimp systems the newer PEX has not exhibited any of the problems we had with POLY. PEX had been a huge step into the 21st century by manufactured housing builders that is now being adapted by many site builders across the country.

Repairs to PEX lines can be made with several other fittings not utilizing a crimping tool. Qest is a good example. Watts has puchased C-tech, and has a good fitting on the market that requires no tools and there are no loose parts to content with when you're under the home. PEX is fast becoming the plumbing line of choice in all types of construction now that copper prices are out of sight. Now that the demand is greater, several new vendors are jumping on the band wagon.
