Hey guys,
I need some advice/help. I inherited a Moduline manufactured home a few months ago. I want to move it from its current location to one closer to me. The local city authorities want a copy of the assembly manual. I cant find it in the house and Moduline is out of business (bought by champion I think). Anybody have an assembly manual I can make copies from. My home is 4bd and 2 baths, and 1600 sq ft. Probably 25ft by 64ft. Does one manual cover all Moduline homes ?
thanks in advance for the help

Moving, jacking and putting manufactured home sections onto a foundation is a complex and potentially dangerous operation. That requires a special set of skills and tools. Unless you have a great deal of experience in moving and setting manufactured homes it would serve you best to contract with a licensed installation contractor. Almost every state in the country will require a licensed installer to purchase the permits you will need to install your home. That said.... From your internet address it appears that you are in the northwest. Every state has two approved set up procedures for building inspectors to go by...Most preferred would be for the inspector to use the exact set up manual of the home and be sure it i set to the engineers exact specs...OR every state has a generic set code to be use only if the manual s no longer available...Your local building officials will be aware of this alternate method of compliance..To meet federal complaince..most states now require ALL homes to be set by a state licensed set crew...Every crew with the license will be very aware of the set requirements..both with he manual and without...Check with crews in your area for prices and advice..

Thanks to the both of you. Yes, I want to use a licensed contractor to do the work. The home will be moving from Oregon to northern California (Clearlake area). I have some leads to a contractors, but would appreciate any input. Is it a given that the local city officials will not want any more than what the state deems sufficient ?
Thanks again
