Being this is the first manufactured home I ever bought. I have a question when it comes time to re-roof this 1995 Silvercrest Westwood. Can you nest a second roof over the first on with out any overloading problems ?

A typical manufactured home is designed for an 8 psf dead load on the top chord of the truss. which means, you should not put a second layer of shingles on top of the first. the old shingles should be removed.

I have a older Slivercrest doublewide mobile home. Iam in the process of buying a new roof. The existing roof will be removed and install CDX or OSB to strengthen the entire structure. The sheeting will be inspected and removed as needed at to avoid any mildew, mold, or rotted wood. If the wood is in good condition, it well be left on. Is is advisable to overlap with new CDX or OSB??

Silvercrest has always built a superior structure. Your starting with a very well built home. The existing roof probably is plywood or OSB and would provide adequate strength for your home. All shingle roof systems, on all types of structures, have a life span which if exceeded will result in water seeping through the shingle system and causing water damage to the sheeting. There is no reason to overlay the entire roof with a second layer of decking. This would add a huge amount of weight to the top of your home and could cause a number of different problems. I would go with the decking replacement wherever it is damaged and new shingles. Anything more would be overkill and overpay
